Early in The Beatles career, Ringo said he wanted to buy a hairstyling shop. It sounded like a reasonable investment.
There are only 2 of the original Beatles left (Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr), and yes they are still active, in 2009 they both promoted the Beatles Rock Band. Paul is in a duo band called "The Fireman" and Ringo has his own band called "Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band". Though I don't think the two perform together anymore, but they are still good friends.
There have been ten Bands that Ringo has toured with, and possibly eleven in this upcoming summer (2010). Go to his site or Wikipedia to learn more: http://www.ringostarr.com/biography.php http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringo_Starr_&_His_All-Starr_Band#Tour_and_members The current members are: Ringo Starr Rick Derringer Richard Page Edgar Winter Gary Wright Wally Palmar Gregg Bissonette
John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote the majority of Beatles songs. George Harrison would usually have one or two songs per album and Ringo would have one here or there which he may or may not have written himself.
After the Beatles, Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey) continued to drum and produced his own music. Former Beatle Paul McCartney has made many appearances on Starr's albums, as has Starr on McCartney's (Starr also drummed on albums by the other two Beatles, George Harrison and John Lennon, as well as for Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono). Starr also narrated the children's television series Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends from 1984 to 1986.
Ringo Starr wrote a few songs on his own ("Don't Pass Me By", "Octopus's Garden"), and co-wrote dozens of songs with musician Vini Poncia.

Well first off. Two of the original Bealtes, George Harrison and John Lennon, are dead. :( Furthermore.. Ringo Starr primarily creates his own music with his own band while Paul McCartney is continuing to play Beatles songs with his own cover band. So roughly.. no they don't still play.

No. "Ritchie", as the family called him, was an only child, who sometimes wished he had a brother or sister, to have "somebody to talk to when it's raining". He later referred to his fellow Beatles as "my three brothers".
There are several pictures of Ringo with his cats, so yes.
No, but Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote "I Wanna Be Your Man" to answer Mick Jagger and Keith Richard's questions about how they came up with songs. They gave the Stones first crack at recording it as a single, and it became their first hit. (The Beatles' own version became an album track, sung by Ringo Starr.)

His touring group is the "All-Starr Band", made up of musicians from different famous groups. Unless your name is Don Arden, I don't think it's possible to "own" a band.
