MJT+3 was the name of a jazz quintet formed in 1957. The band featured drummer and leader Walter Perkins, Willie Thomas on Trumpet, Frank Strozier on alto sax, Harold Mabern on piano, and Bob Cranshaw on bass. They recorded four albums before disbanding in 1962. The name stood for Modern Jazz Two (Perkins and Cranshaw) + Three (the others).
