The vocalist of New Radicals, Gregg Alexander, largely stepped away from the music industry after the band's brief success in the late 1990s. He chose to focus on songwriting for other artists and producing music instead of performing. In recent years, he has made occasional appearances and expressed interest in returning to music, but he has remained largely out of the public eye. His most notable hit, "You Get What You Give," continues to be celebrated as an anthem from that era.
