Hello,
personally i thought it was easier to start on a standard 6 string guitar. reason being is there are alot of videos out there for guitar and alot of tab books. :)

Both bass guitar and regular guitar are easy to pick up but can be the hardest instruments to master, due to the various styles in which you would have to learn.
