Yes, Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin met on several occasions. Doors producer Paul Rothchild also produced Joplin's "Pearl" album and thought it would be a good idea for them to meet. Rothchild took Morrison to a party Joplin was at and at first they seemed to be hitting it off until Morrison got really drunk and he pulled Joplin's head down into his crotch. Rothchild rushed Morrison out to a car to leave and Joplin chased them out to the car and hit Morrison over the head with a bottle of Southern Comfort.

Livewire-Blues Power a 1968 recording live at the Fillmore is the only album I could find, but it's only early Albert King. I have been looking too for the version with Jimi and Janis, not sure it was recorded.
