$500.00 to $700.00 on average, depending on condition. I saw one web site for an auction company that reprted selling one of these for $1029 but that is unusual. I have played Yairi Guitars for 40 years and worked in music retail for 15 years. My expertise is acoustic guitars.

You can get an alvarez guitar anywhere from 180 dollars new to 5000 dollars. The yairi line is very expensive and worth every penny if you ask me. I own a md80 masterwork series that goes for 850 dollars and i own a asg4 electric which was made in 2000 only it went for 380 dollars. I've found that alvarez guitars give you a quality for the price that you won't find with any other company. The guy that showed me alot the things that i know about guitars had a yairi that was 20+ years old and I picked up my first alvarez when i was about sixteen I've had it ever since and it is still my favorite guitar. If you are asking what your guitar is worth sen me your serial number and model number to mnewman1986@yahoo.com
The value of a 1977 Alvarez Yairi signed would actually depend on a number of factors. Most important being the condition.
This is from wikipedia:Yairi is the name of three Japanese luthiers, who build hand-made acoustic guitars. In the 1960s and 70s Sadao Yairi, made guitars under the S. Yairi name. H. (Hiroshi) Yairi is Sadao Yairi's son, and made acoustic guitars under his supervision (and usually signed and/or stamped by S. Yairi)... Sadao was Kazuo's UNCLE, and the brother of Giichi Yairi (Kazuo's Father).S. and H. Yairi marketed under a few names in the US. Yairi & Sons, Kohno, Shelly, and Wilson were the only names this writer could find.Yairi is now the name of the top line of Alvarez guitars. Alvarez Yairi guitars are hand-made in the same factory as K. (Kazuo) Yairi guitars and are only sold under the Alvarez name in the United States.
unlike other guitars such as Gibson or American Fenders, K. Yairi Alva's reduce in worth the older the model number is, even though we are talking about a guitar that's originally worth thousands. Like... a 2010 model would be worth quite a bit more than an '87 model. Not to say an older one still isn't worth a lot, because they are. It depends on what year it is.

I'm not all that familiar with it but I can say that it depends on whether it is an all solid wood guitar, or if it's built with laminates all around, or has asolid top and laminate back and sides. I did however do a little research on the net and very little comes up about the instrument. Since I'm an online subscriber to Blue Book of Guitar values it was listed as a Korean made budget guitar made for Saint Louis Music which they added instead of adding a budget line to Alvarez and Alvarez Yairi which are in their own right budget models and not very collectible. So my best guess is that it is probably worth less than $200.00.
