a drum signal is when the drummer of a band ques the rest of the band to come .
It is the metal part around the outside of the drum that is around the drum head.
Drums or main drums. they are the main beat source during music.
Bass drum. The bass drum in a trap set is also called the kick drum.
A bass drum hoop is the outer rim of the bass drum that sandwiches the bass drum head to the actual shell of the bass drum.
A drum roll usually plays on a snare. The drum you sit right behind it.

Sidechaining is where you have two signal, A and B and the signal B affects how signal A is processed. For example if you have a kick drum and bass track, if you put a compressor on the bass track and send the kick drum to the side-chain of that compressor, the compressor will act by how the kick drum plays, and thus gives more room for the kick to cut thru the mix as the bass ducks when the kick drum hits.

The drum may have orginated in Africa or India by the earliest humans of almost one million years ago. No one knows. The drum is the oldest musical instrument, and was probably used for sending signals before that. A hollow log can be a drum, so there is no way of dating its origin. Possibly a hollow log was covered with an animal skin and stretched to dry in the sun. Accidentally dropping an object on the skin caused the "boom" sound of a bass drum. The drum was then used in religious rites and later to signal others. Its true the drum is the oldest instruments, dont know when it was invented but i know it was originated in Africa.

You hit the pad and the electronics sense the impact, usually with an impact force sensor for different volumes, and the signal is sent to the soundboard via wire. On the soundboard there are multiple plug inputs. One for snare, bass drum, cymbols, etc. The "drum" itself doesn't make the noise but rather the input. You could plug a cymbol into the snare input and you would still get a snare sound. The soundboard just senses the initial impact and amplifies it as a drum piece.
I refer to Steam Boiler drum level. It is actually - to some positive figure is the range. Generally the boiler level is maintained at mid point that is zero. The transmistter is differential type. (DP type) If the transmitter is with a specified signal out put of 4-20 mA, it sends out 4 mA at lowest level and 20 mA at highest level. At mid level zero it sends out 12 mA. Differential pressure is highest at actual lowest level and lowest at actual highest level of the drum. By keeping negative to positive range there is fair amount of analog signal on lower and higher side of the drum.

Fife and Drum was the basic means of communication between the troops and their commanders. Different drum beats would signal when to wake up, load your guns, go get fire wood or water. A fifer and a drummer were assigned to each regiment, and they would be in charge of letting the troops in that regiment know what to do. The tunes would also be played for moral or death marches.
