Each of The Beatles had a different idea about performing on stage but the negatives shone through which was why they eventually stopped touring. They loved the rush of being on stage, and the thrill of the adoring fans, but also got annoyed when the music could not be heard for the screaming and when the famous Jelly Babies were pelted at them. It comes as a shock for many but all the Beatles suffered with stage fright. John Lennon said that his nervousness was the reason he did not wear his glasses on stage.
"I'd lose me nerve if I could see everyone in the audience, y'know? I like to have it all sort of vague." - John Lennon 1964
It varied through their career; in the early days (before their first trip to Hamburg), they were pretty poor. They improved enormously and quickly on their trips to Hamburg. When they returned they gave, by repute one of their best ever concerts where they realised they'd become a good band.
Late 1962/early 63 was probably their peak as live performers; they had tremendous energy and enthusiasm. There exists a recording of their performance on a Swedish pop programme in 1963 that's, particularly for the time, extraordinary.
Their first US tour also had some good shows; particularly in Washington.
After 1964, they became tired of performing (they'd essentially worked every day for 2 years, so it wasn't surprising) and the Beatles show became a notional 30 minute show that was often was reduced to 20 minutes by playing faster. Even so, listening to the Hollywood Bowl performance, they were such good singers and performers, that they were never bad.
From 1963-1966, A typical beatles gig was there music drowned out by insane screaming fans that were just liked their presence, not there music.

Stu Sutcliffe was the Beatles original bass player, but he was not much good. He was savagely beaten one night after a gig and suffered serious brain damage from which he ultimately died. Paul McCartney subsequently changed from guitar to bass.Stuart Sutcliffe

Elvis was about ten years ahead of the beatles. Interesting side note. In those days getting to appear on the Ed Sullivan show was a guarantee to launch a career. There was a country singer trying to get national attention that appeared on the Sullivan show the same night Elvis Presley did. Of course Elvis so overshadowed the guy that everyone forgot about him. He kept trying and finally landed a gig on the Sullivan show again. But, as luck would have it, that was the night the Beatles first performed in America. So, once again the guy was out performed and forgotten. I used to know his name but can't remember it anymore.

It would have been at the Indra Nightclub in Hamburg in 1960, when the band had a 48-night residency at the club.
The Burton Gig Bag comes in four sizes, those being 146 cm, 156 cm, 166 cm and 176 cm. The typical weight of the bag is 4 lb 3 oz. As these bags are for multi-board transportation, the size of the largest board to be transported would dictate the size of the gig bag required.
It partly depends on what you mean by the Beatles; the Quarrymen (which was Lennon's first band and which went on to become the Beatles) first performed in Woolton (a suburb of Liverpool) at a church Fete in 1957. It's one of the most significant events in music history as it was also when John Lennon met Paul McCartney.
