changing pitches of the notes really fast up and down. different ways are used for different instruments. its actually kinda like moving a half step up and down. for violins (i play it), you shake your finger around really fast. for band instruments (Flute, Clarinet, etc.), you do something with your tongue. im not really sure.. my friend told me this haha. hope this helped.
