i suggest an acoustic because the strings are higher off the neck making it harder to press down. as time goes on and you get used to pressing hard whilst playing faster. when you've mastered playing on an acoustic playing an electric will be easy and youll be able to play faster than on an acoustic.
i would recommend the squier stratocaster. its always been a good learning tool for beginners and professionals.
if it doesn't check out the ibanez forums, I was hanging out with one of my friends and she had a strat with no whammy bar so I took the whammy bar off my BC Rich guitar and because it was a different kind (floyd rose) it wouldn't work on her fender stratocaster lookalike. there should be no installation , just put it in I mean the metal is already prepared and a direct replacement, if you can get your money back go for it.

I am not from London myself, but have been there several times. I too wanted buy a guitar from there at first but then decided against it. While buying a guitar you have to take into account whether you want an acoustic or an electric guitar. Some good acoustic guitars are :- 1. Yamaha 2. Fender 3. Grenada. If you want to buy an electric, you must decide whether you want rhythm, lead or bass. Rhythm Guitars- 1. Yamaha Pacifica 012 2. Fender Stratocaster (Squier) 3. Ibanez Gio Lead ( What I play):- 1. Gibson SG 2. Ibanez Jem 3. Kramer Focus 211 S( made by Gibson but much cheaper) 4. Just about any B.C. Rich guitar. If you don't mind buying an expensive, all-rounder guitar, your choices are:- 1. Gibson Les Paul 2. Fender Stratocaster 3. Any ESP guitar I don't really know much about the bass, so you'll probably have to ask someone else. If you don't like any of my choices there's a cool music shop on Regent Street (I can't remember the name but some guy at HMV Oxford Circus recommended it to me,) where you'll find some awesome guitars. Cheers, A fellow guitarist.

One can find the best deal for an Ibanez Gio guitar by going to the Ultimate Guitar website. The website had reviews about the best deals for Ibanez Gio guitars.

the JEM is much better. the GIO is a beginers guitar around 100-300 dollars (im not sure but) and the JEM isn't, its about 2000+ dollars. But anyways, the JEM is much better but the GIO is like $1500 dollars cheaper. It probablly doesn't but i hope that answers your question
That would depend on your appeal to comfort, aesthetics and sound... and maybe price. There are good Yamaha guitars, such as the Pacifica, which is a nice Fender Strat style. The Squier is the 22 fret strat Fender (I have a 22 fret Ibanez GIO) which is just as good as any guitar in my opinion, but a standard 24 fret is better for the high-pitching lead shredder (though only by one note).
Some recommended upgrades for an Ibanez Gio guitar to enhance its performance and sound quality include upgrading the pickups to higher quality ones, replacing the tuning machines with better ones for improved tuning stability, upgrading the bridge for better sustain and tuning stability, and replacing the nut with a higher quality one for better tuning stability and tone.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is better.
