Brostep is a new sub genre of music which has no emphasis on soul.
yes, his songs are mainly Dubstep/brostep.
There is no single genre that Skrillex does, though they all fit within the realms of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). He is often referred to as a dubstep artist, however he is actually a pioneer of a genre known as brostep. While the structure of brostep is nearly identical to dubstep, it has several key differences. Dubstep emphasizes modulation of the bass (hence the use of "wubwubwub" in describing dubstep), whereas brostep usually runs the bass through a vowel filter. While dubstep tends to keep a single noise for the drop, brostep is more chaotic in that it switches between various bass noises and synth leads and screeches. The tone of the song is also usually darker, particularly in the drop. Brostep is to dubstep what metal is to rock. This doesn't make it bad, however. It's just another genre to be enjoyed for its own merits and impact on EDM as a whole.
I would say a mix of Brostep, Electro- House, Drum & Bass, some Dubstep, and in some cases Hip-Hop.

No. Skrillex is a dubstep and electronic music artist.

If you want it from Skrillex, he says that it is "dance music" not any specific sub-genre. I've also heard that it is a sub-genre called brostep
If in a group, brostep as it is not too heavy going. If on your own, Dubstep and drumstep is good as these are generally much more compact with rhythms and bass.

dubstep is a type of music that has different structures to it. Made with Music Creation software and various vxt plugins and synthesizers. the different structures put together are: bass-the beat and rhythym of it without a certain harmony wobble-a thing that has a unique tempo with is going up and down like WABAWABA vocals-the singing and voices etc. it exists cuz people like it when it began, there were minimal patterns. usually a Drum pattern playing at 140 bpm and strong mid range frequencies as well as the hard pumping lows (Bass) there were usually little to no vocals present but maybe a warped and manipulated sample of a vocal. Dubstep originated from a mixture of 'Reggae Dub' and UK '2 step Garage' in the underground music scene in South London at around 1998. Since it has evolved over time new artists have been introducing vocals and higher range frequencies into their tracks and as it has become increasingly popular it has been adapted into 'Brostep'.
