dental care is complete care of the oral cavity (the mouth). dental care is more than the teeth it is making sure the Gums in your mouth are strong and still doing their job by bocking bacteria from getting into your blood stream and the teeth should be strong with enamel with no erosion or bacterial infections (cavities) and overall plaque should be cleaned out and reduced to prevect bacterial infections. plaque leads infection. its a thick coat of bacteria collecting on the tooth and eventually starts to eat into teeth and into the gums without it being controlled it can eventually eat into the gums and teeth and get into your blood and immediately begin flowing to your heart and cause heart complications. this is the importance of dental care. sometimes it is looked away from but without dental check ups you are only hurting yourself more and setting your self up to very more serious matters. if a dentist (such as myself) catches a small cavity and fills it: its not such a big deal. But if you ignore it and let the cavity keep eating into your tooth and eventually hit your blood line and affect your heart then you have caused yourself a major problem that could of all been avoided in a 30minute filling. So yes dental care is a very important feature to your over all health and should be looked into every 6 months.
