From http://news.medill.northwestern.edu/Chicago/news.aspx?id=130979,

"Participants in these 'Hip-Hop Detoxx' sessions listen and discuss songs they've written in a process that removes the poisons they absorb every day, according to founder Enoch Muhammad.

The process is 'geared toward the social and emotional issues we carry,' Muhammad said. 'All those things produce the condition that's toxic. [Hip-Hop Detoxx is] the process by which we begin to deal with the toxins.'

The cornerstone of the program centers on connecting with youth and encouraging positive behaviors through Hip-Hop music, a method which participant Willie Butler said appeals to youth."
