All answers to this question will be in the form of opinion... Jaco Pastorious used a Fander Jazz Bass, and Bootsy Collins uses a custom Ed Roman bass with Fender Jazz Bass style pickups. So I'd say a Fender Jazz bass would at least be suitable for funk. But the funk is not in the bass, you understand... the groove is in the heart.

Is it better to learn Bass Or Guitar first?

This is like asking should I play the trumpet or the tuba!!! They are different instruments that (tend to) have different roles in music.Bass is a good place to steer a band from. It's not a C chord unless the bass player plays a C (no matter what the guitarist does). The bass player has to glue the drummer to the rest of the band. Your job is to make everyone else sound better than they are whilst doing as little as possible yourself. The choice depends on what you want to play (if it's Motown type stuff then the guitar parts are generally much simpler than the bass parts), what sound you hear in your head (I've always been attracted to the bass). Also good guitar players are 10 a penny. Good bass players are much harder to find.A Simple Answer would be this:If you want to learn bass, know that it is lower and is bigger and heavier. Guitar is smaller, usually lighter, and smaller. The thing is, the bass is so easy to improve your musical talent. Guitar, either your really really smart and self teach yourself, or you take lessons. Bass, you can go right from guitar to bass and be a champ. Utter utter nonsense...100% wrong.BASS IS NOT EASIER BY ANY MEANS. GUITAR AND BASS ARE BOTH THE SAME DIFFICULTYI would learn guitar. Bass isNOT any easier to learn, but you rarely see somebody sitting around in a group of people pull out a bass and start playing (because not enough people play bass).A guitar is a stand-alone instrument, a bass is, in some hands, not.Hope this helps!Bass guitar is NOT a four-stringed instrument that plays the lower notes. A bass is usually from 4-6 strings, however, I have seen many many bassists with 7-9 strings. Guitar is a string-stringed instrument that plays the higher notes. For example, imagine a piano divided in half. The keys on the left play the lower music, and these are the low pitches you would get out of a bass guitar. The keys on the right play the higher music, and these are the pitches you would get out of a regular guitar. Also, do you want to play rhythm or lead? With a bass, you can only play rhythm. With a guitar, you can do either or both. = LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > (Different person) you can play lead on a bass, I should know, cause I play the bass. Before you decide to play any instrument, you should ask yourself, why? Learning to play the guitar, or bass, as a pro, is not an easy task. Are you wanting to play for fun, or get with a band, and tour the world? Do you wish to spend a lot of money, or just buy a beginner book, and a cheap instrument? There are advantages to playing both the bass, and the guitar, however you have to decide which you would rather play. Go to a music store, and check out both, then decide.==You can still play bass and it doesn't have to be rhythm. Bass guitars are best known to be used for rhythm (which is true), but the bass is still good. The answer above made the electric guitar a clear winner (saying its easy and has a few notes). The bass has a couple different playing styles, making it a DIFFICULT guitar to learn, because theres a lot to choose and most of them prove to be difficult. Its also quite expensive because it has a wide range of tones depending on amps and sets. Some playing styles include: Fingerstyle/Fingerpicking (Most common), Flatpicking/Strumming (common, uses a guitar pick), Flamenco (A mixture of hand strumming and Tapping), Slapping/Double Slap (check out Fieldy from Korn), and Pop (usually referred as Pop/Slap). These are the couple playing styles used for the bass.Theres also some playing styles for the guitar: Shredding (its less common to shred on bass), Blues, Funk Guitar, Metal Guitar and even Tapping. It all comes up what kind of sound you want, while bass you would have to choose to master.learn Guitar then Bass(bass has the 4 stings tuned to EADG which is same on guitar) if you want to have 3 chances of getting in to a band

Which bass guitar is the best in the world?

Fender's Jazz and Precision models are the most popular. The Precision is known for its solid, earthy tone, while the Jazz has more "sizzle" for funk and percussive playing. My favourite bass design is the Music Man StingRay. One great bass which I own is the Line 6 Variax Bass 700, a modelling instrument. While its feel is a bit generic, it can emulate the sounds of many other basses such as the Precision and Jazz, the StingRay, the Gibson Thunderbird, the Rickenbacker 4001, the Hofner violin bass (eg. Paul McCartney), Danelectro hollowbody, Alembic Long Scale, Steinberger XL2 (headless), acoustic bass, a standup bass, and even 12-string bass and synth bass.

What is the musical Bass?

What do you mean? "What is the Musical Bass". Well, if your wondering what it is, it is: A stringed instrument played mostly with fingers or thumb, or by using a plectrum. Bass Guitar looks quite similar to an electric guitar but it has a larger body, a longer neck and scale length; it usually has four strings. Bass Guitar fufills a similar role in most types of music: "anchoring the harmonic framework and laying down the beat". Bass Guitar is used in many styles of music, including rock, metal, pop, country, blues and jazz. It is used as a soloing instrument in jazz, fusion, latin, funk and in some rock and metal (mostly progressive rock and metal) styles. That is a little explanation of what it is.
