Take a Lesson from Amateur Golfers, their Garages are filled with the "Best" clubs on the Market, and at some point they come to the Realization, that it's not the Club, it's the Golfer. Putting the two terms together "Best", and "Off Brand" just don't go hand in hand. And while I would not agree, that you "Get what you pay for" you do however get what you get. The Best of anything, has to be Established Via a Standard, and if a "Off Brand Guitar" was Established as the "Best" it could hardly remain a "Off Brand" in the first place, now could it? Now I know this did not answer the Question, but as a Guitar player for the past 48 years, the Question itself makes me wonder if you know how to Play Guitar, or if your just beginning, and are looking for Quality without high Expense. Tell me what price range you are thinking of, and I will tell you what to look at, and where.

∙ 14y agoi personally like epiphone/gibsonn a lot. if you are searching to BUY an Electric Guitar then you should go for your preference. go to guitar center, and play some Guitars. find one that feels good to you. remember, the strings in there have been used a million times, so don't make that a factor. feel the guitar. along the sides of the neck, are the frets sticking off the neck a little? making it rough? its all about your preference. also it depends on what style you play blues is definatly Les Paul

country, probably fender, i don't know much about that genre
bluegrass type music is probably a hollow body electric.

First of all, I would go with an 'acoustic' (non-electric) guitar to start out with......reason being, you will gain better finger dexterity and technique.........as far as brand/make, I'd certainly start off with a Taylor or equivalent. Stay away from anything TOO cheap, which might result in you getting prematurely - frustrated.
