I have owned both.. still have the yamaha... it's only my personal opinion, but I would go with the yamaha...

Gibsons generally feature slightly differing specifications in terms of dimensions and weight. Gibsons also feature higher quality parts, as youd expect from the much higher price. This is not to say that epiphones are bad instruments at all - i have one and it is fantastic. The name on the headstock also alters the price.

it depends how dedicated and how much you want to play and the make i have got a epiphone SG G-400 cherry which costs 280 and it is brill but different makes like Gibson and fender have different price ranges and Gibson are really exspensive a basic guitar will cost about 150-250 i think for a ok quallity

Angus Young, plays guitar in the band AC/DC. You will almost always find him playing a Gibson SG, because he says that it fits him best(he's 5'2"). In some cases where he's borrowing a guitar you can find him playing fender telecasters, Gibson firebirds and Gibson ES335's(when with the rolling stones). He runs these guitars through a radio unit live (chord studio) into several 100w Marshall Heads (5/6 vol, 5 bass, 5mid, 6 treble) through to two 4x4 marshall cabinets for each. For his solos, he runs the guitar into 50w heads at same EQ but at 10 volume do get around the same volume as the 100w heads, possibly a little more. He plays with no effects.

Yes. i have one and it is an absolutely cracking guitar. mine is in cherry sunburst which looks gorgeous, and the tone is fantastic for this price bracket. The answer is a resounding yes.
Is the Sand Cherry's Sap edible?
I do not think so, but if you have sap, you'd better get a new tree. :)
