There are many hit songs about being out on one's motorcycle, such as the classic rock song "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf. But perhaps you are referring to a novelty song that was written and sung by Arlo Guthrie, from his famous 1967 album "Alice's Restaurant." I enclose a link to a good blog analysis of the song-- there are four different versions, and Guthrie has added more to it every time, to make it funnier.
