As I said to someone else:

1. If you have kids East Cobb, was voted one of the best places to live in Georgia. East Cobb has a Marietta address, but is not really like Marietta. The price for a new home in the Walton High School school district would put a nice $900,000+ dent in your wallet. East Cobb is home to several local celebrities such as Bobby Cox (former Braves coach). East Cobb has two country clubs. The less expensive,as far as houses and membership dues go, would be Indian Hills Country Club. The very expensive would be Atlanta Country Club, where a Golf front LOT can put you back $700,000+. There are some less expensive parts of East Cobb, such as the Lassiter or Pope district. The more expensive zips in East Cobb would be 30067 or 30068. A less expensive area (but just as nice) would be the 30062 zip which is still in East Cobb. The economical choice is 30066, which IS in East Cobb, but it is in the Lassiter High School district. In East Cobb, Range Rovers and Mercedes are very normal. The crime rate is almost zero. This area is about 2o minutes from downtown. The area is so expensive for the world class public schools. If you have a job downtown East Cobb is the best place to be if you have kids, or just champagne taste perhaps.

2. If you don't have kids, or prefer to put them in private school, would be Vinings. A house in Vinings would put you back about $700,000+. This area is beautiful, old money. The public schools are TERRIBLE, and I say TERRIBLE. That doesn't mean the area is bad, in fact it is one of the most desirable areas in Atlanta. The best private school would be Lovet, which is minutes away. Vinings has beautiful homes and restaurants. If you get on the Vinings Mountain, which is just a big hill, the views are BEAUTIFUL! You would have the BEST view of Atlanta. In Vinings you have great access to the I-75, and a straight shot to the airport. You are also close to luxurious malls such as Lenox and Phipps.
