I have a '98 disco and I believe the light you are talking about is an emission light. it could also be your check engine light but I think that one is red. the emission light comes on at certain mileage point. I think it's 60k and 105k. It can be reset by removing the kick panel on passenger side right side floor level. Remove the kick panel, you will find a small box tucked in the back corner with a Land Rover sticker over it. there is a small hole under the sticker. Push a small Allen wrench though the hole to short two pins out and reset the light. I believe the ignition needs to be on. A great resource of land rovers is discoweb.org and you should be able to find almost any answer you need for disco's there.
