According to Wikipedia, "The video drew inspiration from the 1976 film Futureworld. The Gothic-themed video features Bonnie Tyler clad in white, apparently having an erotic dream or fantasy about her students in a boys' boarding school. Young men are seen dancing and participating in various school activities such as swimming, karate, gymnastics, football, Fencing, soccer, and singing in a choir. But it is worth noting that there is another possible interpretation to the video. The singer is an adult woman lost in a dream, recalling her youth; and she is regretful about what she did not do. She is singing the chorus about "once upon a time, there was light in my life; now there's only love in the dark..." All she has left now are her fantasies. And looking at the innocent and active young boys and young men, she remembers a time when she too was innocent and hopeful. She is singing about the past ("Every now and then, I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by...") and perhaps wishing she had the freedom to go back and take a chance with someone whose love she evidently lost. Towards the end of the video, an angelic winged figure embraces her in his wings, perhaps to say she is forgiven for having these fantasies; the choir could also represent forgiveness. But in the end, she cannot go back to the past. She is an adult, and can only remember, and wish.
