What is the difference of getting them tied verses burnt and clipped?

Tubes clipped - Fallopian tubes are clipped and it is reversible. Tubes cauterized (burned) - Tubes are burned (not reversible). Tubes tied - Doctors don't do this procedure that often, but it is what it is, your fallopian tubes are tied. (reversible but with difficulty and lower success rate)

When tubes are tied for at least 2 years is there a possibility sperm can access the womb?

There is always a possibility of pregnancy, no matter what birth control method you use (aside from a complete hysterectomy). Tubal ligation has a 99.7% success rate, so the chances are slim. However, if the tubes grow back together than there is a chance that you can become pregnant either in your uterus, or more commonly after tubal ligations, have an ectopic pregnancy in the fallopian tubes.

Is it possible to get pregnant 15 years after tubal ligation?

Although natural pregnancy could occur it is very slim. If it does happen naturally there is a very good chance that it would be ectopic. The most natural way to have a child after having a tubal ligation is with tubal ligation reversal. Surprising to many is the fact the tubal reversal has a better pregnancy rate than the alternative treatment of IVF. Not only does tubal ligation reversal have a better success rate it is more natural and less expensive than the alternative.

What are the chances of delivering a healthy baby after having your tubes tied and burned and if you have a tubal pregnancy can you carry successfully through a tubal pregnancy?

Personally i don't think it's possible to carry a baby successfully in your tube, that would be an etopic pregnancy and if left untreated it can be dangerous. my sister was three months when she lost the baby cuz it was in her tube and the doctor said there is no way that would be possible the baby needsa utuerus to grow the tubes isn't just gonna do it..hope that helps! I have had my tubal done now 16 years an i think im pregnant..im just to afraid to find out currently im awaiting my reaults,,i will keep you posted best of luck!!!AnswerHello there! I have heard of many women who get pregnant and have the baby healthy after having a tubal ligation. I think the failure rate is a little higher than the doctors say. But hey what do I know? lol....I'm not a doctor. I had a tubal(cut and burned)6 years ago and 2 months ago I did get pregnant....I did end up miscarrying...but the whole thing is the sperm met the egg and made it to my uterus which would not have happened if the tubes was blocked as it is supposed to be. So I am not convinced that a tubal ligation is as effective as they say. Hope this adds a little food for thought. Thanks...Lisa

Could you still get pregnant if you had your tubes cut and burned 19 years ago?

It's highly unlikely but it still can happen. Tubal ligation has less than a 2% failure rate. If you feel that you could be pregnant after having tubal ligation you should see a Dr as soon as possible because you are at higher risk for ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, and other complications.

You want to have a child but you had your tubes cut after your last daughter tell you can you still have a child again?

There is a procedure called Tubal Ligation Reversal which would reverse the effects of having your tubes tied. It cannot be performed on all women and isn't always effective on the women on whom it can be done. The pregnancy rate after a reversal is between 40 percent and 85 percent.

If a person fallopian tubes are tide and they misses there period and they test is positive for a pregnancy test?

If your pregnancy test was positive, then you are almost certainly pregnant. Having your fallopian tubes tied is not a foolproof method of contraception - it has a 1 in 200 failure rate.

Can you have surgery to reverse tubligation if your tubes are burnt?

The fallopian tube lengths remaining after a tubal ligation procedure are important determinants of the chances of getting pregnant after tubal reversal surgery. (Normal fallopian tube length before a tubal ligation is approximately 10 cm or 4 inches.)Women with tubal lengths of 7.5 cm or longer had a pregnancy rate of 77%. The pregnancy rate declined as tubal length decreased, but even women with the shortest tubes (less than 2.5 cm) became pregnant (38%). Although previously unreported in the medical literature, it became apparent during this study that a repaired fallopian tube of any length can result in pregnancy. Based on reports by women with only 1 fallopian tube, we now know that tubal lengths as short as 1 cm can result in a normal pregnancy.

Why is the failure rate of a tubal ligation higher when done during a Cesarean section?

During a c-section your body still has pregnancy hormones and it makes it easier for the tubes to begin to heal themselves and reconnect

What is a tubalation and can you have a baby after having a tubalation?

Yes. There is an 0.4% failure rate for tubal ligation resulting in pregnancy (1 in 250). Most of these are ectopic pregnancies and many are in the tubes. The tubal ligation success rate is 99% in the first year, but after that, there can be increased chances that the body will heal itself and rebuild or reconnect the tubes. See the comment in the discussion section for an anecdotal summary of one case.
