Bela started out playing bluegrass with Tasty Licks in Boston then moved onto what is known as New Grass with the legendary band, New Grass Revival. When he formed his own band, the Flecktones, their style became a mixture of jazz, newgrass, funk, and blues. Since then Bela has pursued his interest in classical, Asian and African music and infused these elements into his repertoire.
