That was Doodles Weaver calling the horse race on the recording of the

William Tell Overture by Spike Jones and his City Slickers. (I mean that

Spike Jones recorded it. Gioachino Rossini composed the overture.)

Beetle Bomb was one of the horses running in that race.

There was another Spike Jones recording where Doodles Weaver called a car

race. The cars were all numbers, but when the winner of that one crossed the

finish line, it was Beetle Bomb again. I'm not sure, but I think that record could

have been the City Slickers' treatment of Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours.
