Sorry, can't answer the question directly. Ravi Shankar didn't then and still doesn't today do 'songs' he did and does do ragas and other Indian musical forms. By the way, I was in India recently. The kids I asked didn't know anything about the Ravi Shankar sitar player who was and is popular in the West. There are at least two other Ravi Shankars that are well known in India. One is a very famous religious (well, not exactly religious but something close) leader. See http://www.celebrityfireworks.com

A raga is a melodic framework used in Indian classical music, characterized by a specific set of notes (swaras) and a unique mood or emotion (rasa). Each raga is associated with particular times of day or seasons and is meant to evoke specific feelings in the listener. The performance of a raga involves intricate improvisation, allowing artists to express their creativity while adhering to the raga's traditional rules. Overall, ragas play a vital role in conveying the depth and richness of Indian musical heritage.

"Ek Andhera Lakh Sitare" is set in the raga Yaman. This raga is known for its serene and romantic qualities, characterized by the use of sharp notes like F# (teevra madhyam) and the absence of the note "nishad" (D). Its smooth and flowing melodic structure makes it well-suited for expressing deep emotions, as showcased in the song.

Through a Magic: The Gathering card search on Magiccards.info, you can find information about specific cards, including their name, mana cost, card type, abilities, and flavor text. You can also see the card's rarity, set, and artist, as well as view images of the card.
You can view you whole set here: at the link below. As far as my personal impression of it: there aren't any complicated mechanics (metalcraft, infect) but it's a fairly solid set. It's a core set, so It's meant to give cards which could be used in many decks. Cards of note in no particular order except grouping: Steel Overseer Elvish Archdruid Sword of Vengeance Grave Titan Primeval Titan Frost Titan Sun Titan Inferno Titan Fauna Shaman Ajani Goldmane Chandra Nalaar Garruk Wildspeaker Jace Beleren Liliana Vess Baneslayer Angel Platinum Angel Day of Judgment -Titans are all 6/6 for 6 mana with some special ability that triggers when they enter the battlefield or attack (attack mind you, not deal damage). -There is only one expensive planeswalker in the set: Garruk. The others are good, but Garruk is worth far more money. -Baneslayer is the best 5 mana cost creature I can think of off the top of my head. Not to say it is the best, for I bet it isn't. But it's still awesome. There are many more excellent cards in the set, and I would suggest checking them out for yourself.
