As a guy I would have to say it completely depends. However, if the guy is interested in you and has a head on his shoulders, you can make conversation about anything. Do not talk too sexual either, unless you only intentions are too get some. If you want to date someone, you have to see who they are when "sex" is not on their mind. Talk about anything that interests you. If you have differences of opinions see how he responds to you. If he excepts your love for a different taste of music or even though you have different political views, he will respect you throughout your relationship. If he puts you down for it, toss him away and look for a new guy.
