About the same, buy usually only girls play flute, I don't know why. Hope this helps.
Flute is most definitely not an instrument just for girls! Most of the world's best flute players are in fact males, including the most famous American flutists James Galway & Julius Baker! Do not be afraid to play flute if you are a guy, because its sterotype is obviously incorrect! Yes I agree with the comment above :) Go for it !!! If you want proof, research it, or just look at me! My name is Jacob and I play flute and I am also a guy (as you probably have guessed by my name), so if the flute is something you would want to play, then go for it(as stated above)!
It seems that they make a new kind everyday! I went to a flute convention once and found in the exhibition hall a flute for sale made out of PVC piping that looked as if it was 6 feet tall! There are many folk instruments that I am not familiar with, so here is a list of the more common types of flutes that are currently used and sold:Concert Flute - in the key of C, most commonly seen in stores as well as bands and orchestras as the flutist's principal instrument.Piccolo - in the key of C as well, but pitched an octave (or eight notes) above the standard flute.Bass flute - in the key of C, sounds an octave (or eight notes) below the standard flute.Alto flute - in the key of G.Soprano flute - in the key of Eb.Tenor flute - in the key of Bb.Treble flute - in the key of G.
Ah, well, there are a lot. If you're just talking modern flutes, there's the regular Flute, the Western concert flute. Then there's the familiar piccolo, bass and alto. There are also more rare types, like treble, soprano, contra-alto, contrabass, subcontrabass, double contrabass, and hyperbass. That's eleven. Then I'm not sure if you want to include less modern flutes like the pan flute and the Greek double flute. If that's the case, the list might go on forever, as the flute is a very old instrument and nearly every major civilization created their own take on it.

See related links for note sheet.
I would say that girls plays the flute the most cause you rarely see any boy flute players. I am a 14 year old boy flute player and went to this state wide band place at least i think it was state wide. 1st time it was me and another boy in the flutes then last time i was only one.

well maybe because girls talk more, and the flute requires a lot of breath support
I guess he could. Or he's just being nice.
If they have a flute, recorder, pipe, exedra, you bet. It is sort of calming to them, and is good practice. They only do play it if they like to.

Yes, girls do like the mohawk men. Usually, mens play a flute to show how much he likes that girl. (This is true, I had just finished a project about Mohawks)
