Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple was a popular song in 1972. This Deep Purple masterpiece was featured on the classic 1972 Deep Purple LP Machine Head. For those of you who are unaware of this, RHINO records issued a 25th anniversary edition of Machine Head in 1998 or-99. It consists of two Cd's, the first featuring the Machine Head Cd re-mastered in its entirety from 16 bit digital transfers, culled from the original masters. Disc 1 also features a quadraphonic mix of "Lazy", a quadraphonic mix of "Maybe I,m A Leo", The rare b-side "When A Blind Man Cries", & several previously unreleased Ritchie Blackmore guitar solos. Disc 2 features the entire Machine Head Cd remixed by Roger Glover, in addition to more previously unreleased Ritchie Blackmore solos, & some original Ian Paice drum tracks which were never used on the original 1972 Machine Head release. I have this set in my Cd library, & it is deadly!
