The original band consisted of; Axl Rose (front man), Slash (lead guitar/rhythm guitar), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm/lead guitar, backing vocals), Duff McKagan (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Steven Adler (drums) After Adler was fired for his heroin addiction in 1990, he was replaced by Matt Sorum of The Cult. In 1991, after the realise of 'Use you Illusions' Izzy Stradlin left the band and was replaced by Gilby Clarke of Candy and Kills for Thrills. Slash left the band in 1996 and Duff left shortly after. Guns n' Roses is still a band today but Axl Rose is the only original member.
