The late Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's claim to fame was Transcendental Meditation; a pioneering relaxation technique. He was The Beatles' "spiritual advisor" in the late sixties... but it didn't last long, and they denounced him to the media. (McCartney and Harrison both later changed their opinions, and praised his works.)
