The 'A Hard Day's Night' live performance sequences were filmed in the Scala Theatre, Charlotte Street, London (see http://www.arthurlloyd.co.uk/Scala.htm). The stage door was located on Tottenham Street opposite Charlotte Mews which is where the closing part of the police chase sequence was filmed. Promotional 'on set' filming and photographs of The Beatles was done outside the stage door in Tottenham Street and in Charlotte Mews.

The Mews and north side of Tottenham Street remain unchanged since filming in April 1964 but the Scala Theatre was badly damaged by fire in 1969 and demolished. It had become a cinema in the late 1960's and the Cinema business transferred to Kings Cross where the present day Scala Cinema is located today.
