In our 2003 Jeep Cherokee, it was the plastic clips holding the vacuum pumps (2). Only the Cherokee's with manual a/c controls (not electronic adjustment) have these vacuum pumps that adjust which vent is opened. If you have electronic controls on your a/c panel, you will not have the vacuum pumps, but instead an electronic control box, I believe 2 (same count). A mechanic told us that it was the dreaded blend door ($1000 minimum to pull out the dash). A friend of mine was kind enough, with my help to pull out the whole dash and discover this problem. The only bad part was that no dealer had the parts, so we fixed the vent in the front position, until we sell the truck. By the way, the SUV has overheated every summer for the past 4 years and both window motor went out in the last 8 months. I hear the transmission gives out at 77k miles. Our family can't depend on this truck anymore. Thanks, B

A freezer may defrost by itself due to a malfunctioning thermostat, which can cause it to overheat. Additionally, a clogged defrost drain or a broken defrost timer can lead to excessive frost buildup, triggering the automatic defrost cycle. External factors, such as frequent door openings or high ambient temperatures, can also contribute to unintended defrosting. Regular maintenance and monitoring can help prevent these issues.
