After the group split and they divorced Björn and Benny, Agnetha went back to Sweden and started a solo career, acted in a movie and raised the 2 children she had with Björn, Christian and Linda. She has released 4 English speaking albums. She married Swedish surgeon Tomas Sonnenfeld in 1990 and they divorced in 1993.

Frida lives today in Fribourg, Switzerland and performs a few times a year. She also started a solocareer and is alo involved in a several charities. She has released 5 albums after ABBA incl compilations. In 1992 she married Prince Ruzzo Reuß von Plauen and became a Princess. Her title is Anni-Frid, Prinzessin Reuss Gräfin von Plauen. Ruzzo died in 1999 leaving her a widow. That was also the same year her daughter from a previous marriage died in a car accident. == ==

The principle players are alive and well but are no longer a group. The men, Benny and Bjorn are still active in music and futher the ABBA name to a new generation of music lovers. Mama Mia, the movie, staring Meryle Streep was the #1 musical in the world.

There were rumors that there would be a reunion tour with the original members for the year 2012 but that did not materialize. We can hope for 2013.

ABBA didn't so much as break up as they just drifted in different directions. They last recorded together in late 1982. There was never a decision to dissolve the band but were just taking a break which has lasted for over 30 years. But they have no interest in being a group again.

In an industry of "one hit wonders" ABBA had a great run that lasted over a decade. There was never a decision to end the group, initially it was thought to be a break to do other things in their lives. But what started as a temporary hiatis became a permanent situation. Both couples were either divorced or heading in that direction. The breakdown of the relationships within the group was instrumental in the group's demise. I guess as a group they felt they had done all they could musically. All four members married others and their lives took new directions away from ABBA.

The good news is that they left the world some really great music which, after three decades, is as popular as it was during the group's years together. Bjorn and Benny collaberate on music projects such as Mamma Mia. The women have recorded music individually and now have the time and money to do the things that are important to them. The world thanks them for the music.
