What are the different types churches?

There are Three Main divisions in Christianity: Western: Catholic Western: Protestant Eastern: Orthodox Within the Catholic Church there are many different divisions (e.g. Maronite Rite, Eastern Rite, Oriental), but they are all unified under the authority of the Church in Rome. The Protestant branch of Christianity includes a practically innumerable amount of denominations (thanks to the ever-fracturing sects in the United States). Some are distinctly more orthodox in practice--following long-standing Christian tradition-- resembling the Catholic Church, such as the Anglican/Episcopalian Church and Lutheran Church. Others have been founded since the Protestant Reformation that are "unorthodox" and have created their own traditions and put a larger emphasis on evangelizing: Baptist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, and Methodist (although Methodists have varying ranges of orthodoxy depending on the congregation, making some appear more like Episcopalians). The Eastern Orthodox Church prefers to group the Western Churches together, but they should be separate. Many of the practices and beliefs of the Orthodox Church are almost identical to those of the Catholic Church. Like the Catholic Church, there are many different divisions within the Orthodox Church, but there is still a unity that ties them together. Unlike the Catholic Church, however, the Eastern Orthodox Church has a number of Patriarchs that have their own domains (e.g. Greece, Russia, etc.). For further information I would suggest researching the three, main divisions within Christianity as well as looking into the book The Complete Guide to Christian Denominations: Understanding the History, Beliefs, and Differences by Ron Rhodes.

Catholic church service vs church of christ church service?

Both have communion each Sunday. Church of Christ do not have candles or statues. The ministers of Churst of Christ do not wear special robes, they dress as others in the church do. Mary does not play a role in the Church of Christ. Jesus is the head of the church as it is in the Catholic Church. Priest are the leaders of their churches while Church of Christ have selected men in the church who make the decision and never go outside their individual church for advice. The Catholic Church is the true Church founded by Christ Himself, and historically can be traced in lineage back to the original Apostles and Christ. The differences in the Mass are various in conduct, however the commonalities are that they are based on the Bible and the Word of God. The primary differences include the fact that the Catholic Mass has the true body and blood of Christ, through following Christ's mandate by the consecration of the bread and wine as it was instructed in the Bible by Jesus to do. Other protestant (aka protest against the Church) Christian religions use a "representation" and do not believe in the miracles of the faith. The Catholic Mass is Universal, meaning that if you travel the world or discuss your faith with others of the faith, you are part of One True Body of Christ. The same scripture readings are read around the World at Catholic Mass; the same teaching and catechism is use throughout the entirety of the Catholic Church (the word catholic in fact means "for all and universal"). In this way, the true faith of Christ is upheld in unison rather than each individual local group of men making decisions on how their local church should be led based on biases and social ques of their local area or personal perspectives. Another differences is that the Church of Christ service is led by ministers who are "elected" by the local congregation and have spouses and families if they choose. The Catholic Mass and the body of the church is led by a Priest, who, in following Christ's original direction and call to the Apostles to "come follow me" they leave behind pursuit of worldly possessions and commit themselves and their lives completely to following Christ and leading His Church with no other commitments or priorities aside from their walk of discipleship of Christ. The Catholic Mass can seem unusual and uncomfortable at first, but it is easily welcoming when an understanding is sought and participation in the celebration of the sacred mysteries of the Mass is participated in. If you think back to Christ, He was a Jew. The sacredness of unified prayer and the honor and respect to the Lord in the traditions and rituals of the Mass trace back to Christ's teaching and modeling of His Church when He originally began His Church for Jew's and the gentiles following the disciples; the structure and design of the Mass is taken from these original beginnings of the Catholic Church of Christ, and have been maintained in the Catholic Church for over 2,000 years.

Is eric church's song homeboy about his real brother?

No! Him and an expert song writer created this song while at a cabin retreat in North Carolina. The songwriter got the idea after his son told someone to "come on, homeboy". Then him and Church delved into all the different meanings "homeboy" could be used. The song may be fiction, but it delves into a deep meaning of a life many people live. And it leaves a lump in your throat a time or two making a great collaboration!
