On our '98 Beetle, put in the 4 digit code using the first four preset buttons and then push down the button pointing to the right for 2 seconds. It worked for us! LK
If your 1998 VW Beetle has a radio preset button that will not push anymore, you can sometimes fix it by prying the button out of the radio with a butter knife. Then, clean behind the button and clean the button itself. Pop the button back into the radio.
Radio buttons need to be placed in the appropriate type of frame. A radio button's value is always static, however the frame that you bind the radio button to will have the value of the selected radio button.
Hold the button RCL and change the time by pressing up and down on the tune buttons if your car radio doesnt have the RCL buttun use the buttone that changes the view from clock to radio station.
maybe the fuses have blown because that happened to my radio and you might have to buy a new radio.

To enter the radio code for a VW Beetle, first, turn on the ignition and the radio. If the radio displays "SAFE" or "LOCK," press the "TP" or "SCAN" button until you see the first digit of the code. Use the preset buttons (1-4) to input the code by pressing the corresponding button for each digit. Once all digits are entered, press the "TP" or "SCAN" button again to confirm, and the radio should unlock.
To reset the radio from 'safe mode' on a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle, you need to enter the radio code. If the code starts with a zero and your radio does not have a zero button, you can enter the code by using the other numeric buttons. For instance, if your code is 0123, you would press the buttons corresponding to 1, 2, and 3 in sequence. If necessary, consult your vehicle's manual for specific instructions or consider seeking assistance from a dealership if you're unsure.
I have a 1970 beetle that needs a radio. It looks like it was removed from the inside of the bonnet. The wiring is still under the bonnet. Is your radio broken and are you interested in selling the radio or do you know where I can find a vintage radio for my beetle. I have had no luck for several years. s
The easiest way to reset your 2002 VW Beetle radio is to remove the radio fuse. Keep the radio fuse out for 10 seconds and replace it to its original slot.
press and hold the "clk" button then while still holding the clk button press the seek button to set the hour and the tune button to set the minute .the radio can be on or off while doing this it doesnt matter ^_^

The factory radio does not have a reset button.
It requires special tools. They get inserted into the slots at the bottom of the radio.
there is a little orange button on the radio that is the power button
Ever thought it might not be the right button?
