Sir Elton John has always been very private and thus, little is known about his childhood, but just bits and pieces:

He was born in Pinner, Middlesex and named Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947 to Sheilah Eileen (nee: Harris) and Stanley Dwight both in the music industry. Stanley was a Trumpet player and played in smaller bands and both parents loved to collect records which introduced Elton John to all styles of music. At the age of 4 his mother encouraged her son to play piano. He attended Pinner County Grammar School until he left at 15 to pursue his love to become a rock star. His father tried to discourage this, but there was no stopping his son. His parents eventually divorced and Elton John struck out on his own.
