The OBDII connector is under the dash on the left (driver) side.
I don't know about a Grand Cherokee, but in a 2005 Jeep Wrangler you turn your ignition 3 times with out turning the motor over. Turn your key to start, then off, then start, then off, then start and leave in start position, a code will be displayed in the odometer area. Maybe its the same for a Grand Cherokee. If that doesn't work a scan tool is required.
Depending on if it is a MY95 or MY96 will determine if it is OBD2 or not. If it is MY05 it has a 6 pin connector near the PCM that pins out as follows:1= ground2=N/C3=data Transmit4=Data Recieve5=ignition6=not used
a 1995 grand Cherokee is obd 1 compliant, The diagnostic connecter is under the hood. It is a black square connector.
If you're talking about an OBD2 connector, it probably doesn't have one. OBD2 didn't become mandatory until 96. My 95 gc doesn't have one. You can retrieve the codes by cycling the ignition on 3 times in less than 10 seconds(on-off-on-off-on, wait for codes), then count the flashes of the check engine light. Each code will be 2 digits, when code 55 flashes, it's done. There will be a set of slow flashes to indicate the first number of the code, then a short pause, then the next quicker series of blinks will indicate the second number of the code. Code 32 would be 3 slow blinks, a short pause, then 2 quicker blinks. Then there will be a longer pause to indicate the next code. The diagnostic plug is under the hood.
I think you are assuming that to reset the check engine light you can just disconnect the battery. Disconnecting the battery on a 2004 OBD2 compliant vehicle will not reset the check engine light. It must be reset with an OBD2 scan tool. This would work on OBD1 vehicle but not on OBD2 vehicles. So the radio issue is mute. Have the problem that set the check engine light repaired and then reset the light with the tool. Reset the light without correcting the problem and the light will just come back on.
No, 1995 is OBDI.
yes all cars made in 1996 and newer are obd2
all cars manufactured in the us after 1996 use obd2
OBD1, OBD2 didn't start until i believe 1996

Yes, 1997 is Obd 2.
Reset it with a OBD2 scanner.
Under the dash, left side.
No, obdII started in 1996.
Something is effecting the emissions system. There is a fault code stored in the ECU which can be accessed with an OBD2 scan tool. With this code a qualified technician can determine the cause of the problem.
you need a scanner.there's many cheap "[obd2] scanners out there. or you can go to autozone and they scan it for free.
The OBD2 plug is located under the drink holder under the center console.
