which is the fuse for the cigerette lighter in the fuse box of a JEEP 1997? try: www.supermoters.net/registry/media/498536_1
I had the same exact problem with my 98 prizm. It IS a fuse. Mine was located in the fusebox, behind the little storage compartment on the dash. It's a 15 amp mini fuse, marked as lighter. Hope this helps you!
It is labeled ACC (accessory) and is located under the driver side dash. to the left of the fuel/hood release. 15 amp BLUE fuse, bottom left if i remember correctly!
Under the dashboard (drivers side) near plastic molding by the door. Pull the plastic cover off and the fuses for the radio and dome/courtesy lights are the blue ones at the bottom. I also had trouble with these devices as well as the power door locks. It wasn't the fuses, it was the fuse box and/or loose connections in the wiring going into it. wiggling the fuse block turned the radio and lights back on!
The fuse that controls this is the same as the cigarette lighter fuse (15 Amp)
It should be in the fuse compartment that's located in the trunk on the driver's side. Fuse #20.
The fuse for the cigarette lighter on a 1996 Vauxhall Corsa is located in the fuse box under the dash. It is found in slot 23.

They are on separate fuses. The cigarette lighter fuse is #34 located in the engine compartment. The fuse for the radio is located on the pasenger's side fuse block. Open the passenger side door and there will be a plastic cover to remove. I've had both to go out on me at different times.
Check for a blown fuse.
