Alas there is no transmission dipstick on the later model 4.6 SE and HSE models 1999 on. There is simply a plug near the top of the pan so you have to crawl underneath. Many of the LR ports websites have a detailed procedure, engine running etc.
you put the fluid in the dip stick hole, at least that is how it is on my ford aero star
The same place that you check the level of the transmission fluid. The tube that the dipstick goes in is so large so that the fluid will flow down it easily. However, you may need a special funnel, one that has a very long neck, in order to be able to get the fluid into the tube. These are sold at all auto parts stores, and many other places. Check the level frequently, to insure that you do not over fill the transmission.
You pour it down the dipstick tube. They make special funnels just for this. Check with your local auto parts store.
You add the fluid down the dipstick tube.
the transmission dipstick tube is bolted (1bolt) to the left rear of the transmission bell housing. Remove bolt and pull up on the dipstick housing to remove it from the transmission fluid pan.
On non dipstick type transmission you cannot check the fluid level directly, but there is a bolt front of the transmission sump, unscrew and you can refill to that level.
the transmission dipstick on all vehicles are on the right side of the engine toward the back in a small dipstick that usually has a locking knob to keep the expanding transmission fluid from leaking out of the top of the dipstick its not hard to miss your transmission check stick should be labeled, except on this model / year of land rover which is a sealed system that must be taken in to a dealer / mechanic to check (as per conversation with service dept. when asking for exact location of dipstick).
If it is an automatic transmission, then it should have a dipstick to check the fluid level. Depending on the make and model, the location of this dipstick will vary. If it is a manual transmission, then the fluid level really can't be checked and it will not have a dipstick.
You can check the transmission fluid level in your 1998 Chevrolet Corvette with the transmission fluid dipstick. The transmission fluid dipstick will have indicating marks as to the level of the transmission fluid.
there is none, you check fluid with dipstick that goes into transmission
there isnt one. theres a plug on the side of the trannsmission.
If it is an automatic the dipstick is right next to the brake fluid master cylinder reservoir. If it is a stick shift there is not dipstick.
The dipstick is a tool that only the dealer has. The owner can not check the fluid.
You fill the trans fluid thru the dipstick you check the level at.
The most common cause of fluid coming out of the dipstick tube is an over fill. Check the fluid level to see if there is too much.
