On a 96, there is a fuse panel on the right side of the dash, against the right door.
locate the fuse box and remove the cover. On the inside of the cover there should be a diagram of the fuse placement.. Remove the radio fuse and replace with the same proper size.

Did you also check the in-line fuse between the stereo and the power supply? There is actually two fuses...one in the normal fuse panel and one behind the radio...you have to pull the radio to get to it. regards, ron
