He had an older sister, and first his dad didn't let him play because he was too young. But his sister was playing, and he sat and listened to her when she played. That's how he learned all the different tones and sounds, and when he started playing he could name the notes only by listening to the sound of them. He learned very fast, and when he started playing it didn't take much time before he was a great pianist.

A LOT of people. Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, McDowell, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Schumann, Faber & Faber, etc...even my teacher, and me myself. As long as someone made a composition of some sort, that person is a composer, and if he/she composes a piece of music for the piano, that person is a composer for the piano. Which means that if you play the piano and create a 10-measure piece, you are still a composer. Perhaps not wide-known, but still a composer.
No, Adrien Brody work hard, and learned to play the piano for the movie. He stayed in isolation with his piano teacher, mastering the technique, and style of the pieces in which he played. However he had a hard time reading the sheet music so he learned the piano pieces by memorization.

Franz Liszt. According to The Franz Liszt Site at http://www.d-vista.com/OTHER/franzliszt2.html "It was he who devised the Piano Recital and as such he faced the piano sideways to enhance the audience's visual and acoustic experience. This standard of today was unheard of before Liszt. "
