Which is a better family dog German Shepherd Doberman Rottwieler?

All three breeds are excellent guard & family dogs. The difference will be in your life style. Which one suits your style. Dobes & GSD are easier to train (make note). Which breed you decided make sure and buy from working lines. The working lines come with strong training in protection work & stable temparments. Finally make sure your dog receive protection training to get the fully benefit of a stable dog (a dog easy to control) & protection. Also do some research on protection training & go by a certified trainer.

Dobermans were bred as attack dogs,rottweilers were bred as guard dogs and German shephards were bred to protect ,none of them are beter and none of them are worst,as for whats more powerfull id say the German shephard because out of the three the German shephard is the only dog that was bred to fight aswell as protect for eg when they were herding/protection dogs there main job was to protect the flock against wolfs, cayotes,and bears and that's the main reason why when police and army started to use dogs for protection and attack work they picked the German shephard.

Rottweiler:

Pro's:

They are very loyal, loving dogs who get very attached to their owners.

The are good for training - if you want to try something like obediance or agility for fun then a rottie would probably enjoy it.

They are not excessively noisy, and do not require much grooming.

They are a guarding breed, so your home is unlikely to be burgled!

Cons:

Their guarding instincts need to be properly managed and not encouraged! If you are not careful you could easily end up with a dog who won't let you bring friends into your home, or tries to guard his food bowl from you.

They are a working breed, so need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. They should get at least an hour of decent exercise per day, plus play. They also need proper training and socialisation. A bored rottweiler is a naughty rottweiler!

Their coat may be short but it does shed a fair amount.

Their large size means they need a fair amount of space, food etc.

Probably the biggest concern with rottweilers is their bad (and undeserved) reputation. If you want to be a responsible owner, and make your dog a good ambassador for his breed, you need to put in a lot of time and effort. With a rottie you will need to take extra care to make him a sociable, well behaved, obedient and safe companion - as many people will assume he is aggressive. The Rottweiler is not a good breed for first time owners, people who are lazy or aggressive, people who can not lay down firm rules, or those who can not provide the care they need.

Dobermann:

urageous, bold and resolute, strong yet graceful, well-muscled but finely chiseled - these are the features that define the well-bred Doberman Pinscher. A regal and noble breed, the Doberman is also sturdy and generally healthy; the average life expectancy is 10 years, although Dobermans that live to 13 or 14 years of age are not uncommon.

However, the breed is not without its health problems: Cancer, cardiomyopathy and cervical vertebral instability are deadly or debilitating genetic diseases that trouble the Doberman. Because these diseases are hereditary, careless breeding conducted by irresponsible breeders can increase the potential that a dog and its littermates carry the defective genes that will later shorten the dogs' lifespan or severely lessen their quality of life. Conversely, conscientious breeders can reduce the risk of genetic disease in their dogs by studying the health history of particular pedigrees, which increases the chances of breeding healthy dogs to healthy dogs.

I personally suggest a Rottweiler if you won't take any of your dog pushing you around and a Dobermann if you want a dog slightly more affectionate.

Even though Dobermans (aka Dobbies) are strong, + muscular, a Rottweiler (aka Rottie) is stronger, + MORE muscular than a Dobbie. Dobbies may be tough, but Rotties are the TOUGHEST of the tough. So.yes.Rotties are stronger.
