It varies from country to country- no band was the biggest seller worldwide. However, there were some artistes and bands who were huge sellers across the English-speaking world, and some of these were: Michael Jackson Duran Duran Dire Straits Stevie Wonder Bruce Springsteen Madonna Boy George / Culture Club Frankie Goes To Hollywood Tina Turner Sting George Michael Elton John I could list more- but the popularity of the above wasn't uniformly spread, it varied. For example, Boy George was a much bigger seller in Britain and Australia than he was in the USA, whereas whilst Bruce Springsteen was very popular in the UK, he didn't have the huge following that he did in the United States.
