Tchaikovsky's wife was an adoring student of his named Antonina Miliukova. He basically married her to cover up his being gay. Living with her for a short time drove him crazy, and he recovered at a rest home in Switzerland (it is doubtful the marriage was ever consummated). They weren't ever divorced, but neither did they live together. Antonina died years later in an asylum.
