The BeaTles.
Elvis was about ten years ahead of the beatles. Interesting side note. In those days getting to appear on the Ed Sullivan show was a guarantee to launch a career. There was a country singer trying to get national attention that appeared on the Sullivan show the same night Elvis Presley did. Of course Elvis so overshadowed the guy that everyone forgot about him. He kept trying and finally landed a gig on the Sullivan show again. But, as luck would have it, that was the night the Beatles first performed in America. So, once again the guy was out performed and forgotten. I used to know his name but can't remember it anymore.

If anyone didn't, it wouldn't have mattered; nobody could hear them for the screaming anyway.
There was this thing called 'Beatlemania' where crowds of screaming girls would have mass hysteria, so the Beatles could be lip syncing and the girls would still go mad
They got tired of it in the end, and it's one of the reasons they stopped giving live performances.
