Paul Rodgers tried, but even that wasn't billed as Queen - it was billed as Queen & Paul Rodgers. Nobody can really replace an icon like Freddie Mercury, not even an outstanding vocalist and frontman like Paul Rodgers.

In 2004, the "new band" Queen + Paul Rodgers was formed, in which surviving Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor teamed up with vocalist Paul Rodgers- "It was made clear that Rodgers would not be replacing Queen's former lead singer, Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991, he would simply be 'featured with' former Queen members."

No one, As Freddie was a one off. He was so loved by so many people that no one could replace him. For example whe Brian may and Roger Taylor toured agin they chose someone that would not try to be or act like Freddie in any way.

When they play Bohemian Rhapsody, they project a video of Freddie singing it at wembley and Paul Rodgers leaves the stage only to participate in the last verse.

Some artists collaborated with Brian, Roger and John at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992, and Jessie J performed 'We Will Rock You' with Brian and Roger at the 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony.
