Neil Peart from RUSH is the undisputed champion best ROCK drummer of all time. Here is why: 1. 30 plus year of experience and still going 2. Best drum solos ever produced on various concert albums 3. Best drum kit collection every used in concert 4. Help to produce more gold and platinum albums than any rock group ever 5. Anyone who even comes close is DEAD and still DEAD 6. Has participated 5 decades of music and produced drumming that reflects each and every one of these eras. 7. BONUS: Amazing lyricist, therefore drumming efforts truly reflect the lyrics of the composition

When someone makes a decision on the best overall drummer then year of experience, technique, accomplishements, style and more are all taken into consideration. Anyone who says Keith Moon or John Bonham are better are just not taken into consideration ALL these facts. If I played the guitar for 30 years versus 10 years and we are both good players but you die then it only makes perfect sense that I would continue to improve as the years past and therefore be the UNDISPUTED BEST.

However, Ian Paice from Deep Purple is an outstanding drummer who has been playing professionally since the mid-60s and still plays today. He has produced outstanding drum solos on tracks such as The Mule (see Made in Japan version), and plays for a brilliant band. JOHN BONHAM PUT ALL DRUMMERS TO SHAME, AND ANY DRUMMER WOULD BE THE FIRST TO ADMIT IT!!!!

Answer from Wonderfulcarrot:

I am not going to delete what he says, but Neil Peart is not the best drummer ever, it is either Ginger Baker (Cream), or John Bonham (Led Zeppelin).

Baker has been playing drums since 1958, and is 72 years old and can still manage to rock out. Check out this solo right here and you'll understand who is the best.
