Zoretta Hopkins,born January 28, 1959, to Bishop Isaiah Freemon and Missionary Sammye Rutherford Freemon is a Christian recording artist who comes from a sanctuary background, singing since she was two years old. She was Pentecostal experienced at the age of 14 which Zoretta feels was a pivotal point in her life. She honed her singing attributes in the church choirs, groups, and praise teams. Her first concert experience was at the age of 17. Her music has been described as having a jazz, neo-soul, gospel of the 70's sound, transcending races and denominations. Her songs carry a specific messages. Zoretta believes "singing is what God gave her to do to be a witness to the reality of his existence".Zoretta Hopkins public singing career began in 1998 with Heart of God Music, produced by Pastor James Green. Her double sided single featured Full of God written by Pastor Green and Been So Good which was written by Zoretta. Her next recording was a full length CD produced by Future Ideas with Charles W. Peeple, III called Beautiful Rain, which was featured on CD Baby. It included a debut by Bishop Johnny Davis called Great Things. Its success caused a flurry of requests that Zoretta continue singing, writing and recording. It was at this point Zoretta was introduced to Body Builders Television Network where Dr's Chambliss and Miller welcomed her as an Itinerant Artist on their network giving her access in areas around the world. Something to Say is Zoretta's solo debut album with eight of the ten songs having been written by her. Her sophomore CD "Something to Say" was released July 2007! Zoretta continues writing and singing. Her new project on the table "I Don't Want to Be Religious" has an upbeat testimonial feel. Her songs can be purchased at Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby and the like.
