Barry White -- Quite a weird little set -- more of a CD single than anything else, featuring a strange remake of "My Buddy" cut during the Vietnam War! "My Buddy" features lead vocals from Danny Wagner, but also these cool spoken bits from Barry White -- talking with Danny at first, then kind of talking him on through the track -- providing almost a street sensibility to his blue-eyed soul vocals, and furthering the anti-war sound of the cut. Those vocals are still pretty great, though -- and they continue in more conventional format on the other 3 tracks in the set -- "Little Children", "Out Of The Shadows Of Love", and "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" -- all produced by Bob Keane with a really full late 60s pop/soul sound! www.dustygroove.com
