From the time of his birth (i.e. January 8, 1935) until her death (i.e. August 14, 1958) Elvis' best friend was his beloved Mother named Gladys Love (Smith) Presley.

Other than his beloved Mother Elvis had several childhood friends who, at numerous times, also worked with him. This would include Red West, Sonny West, and Jerry Schilling.

Elvis also befriended, while serving in the US Army from early 1958 through March 1960, Charlie Hodge and Joe Esposito.

Additionally, several other friends of Elvis were; Marty Lacker, Lamar Fike, Gee Gee Gambril, Billy Smith, Gene Smith, JD Sumner, etc.
