Oaktown's 357 were MC Hammer's answer to Salt-N-Pepa. Oaktown's 357 debuted in 1989 with their album, "Wild And Loose". They were formerly his backing dancers and wore those silly massive trousers. Their name is a reference to the .357 Magnum revolver cartridge. They are referenced in Biggie Smalls' Live Freestyle 95 lyrics:
"I got seven mack 11's, about eight 38's
Nine 9's, ten mack tens, the sh*ts never ends
You can't touch my riches
Even if you had mc hammer and them 357 b****es"
Unfortunately all the guns didn't do him much good in the end.
